Sick

This is probably one of the most disturbing child related news stories I have read in a while. See, some people think parents who monitor their kids online activities are wrong. I disagree and I think that they should be monitored. I have no idea what some parents are thinking. Of course, maybe his parents thought they were monitoring him, for all we know. Kids are pretty good at making multiple accounts, something else parents don't take into consideration. Also, kids can go to libraries and friend's homes to use the internet and make accounts their parents won't know about. It's really not foolproof, but still. This is just disturbing on so many levels.

Happy Birthday

Zack is a great kid. Everyone likes him. He is active in sports. He is musically gifted. He is smart. He has a great sense of humor. He is willing to volunteer in his community and school. He is truly a good kid, despite all my normal gripes LOL I got lucky when I had him.

Stay-at-home mother's work worth $138,095 a year

Stay-at-home mother's work worth $138,095 a year
Wed May 2, 3:00 PM ET
If the typical stay-at-home mother in the United States were paid for her work as a housekeeper, cook and psychologist among other roles, she would earn $138,095 a year, according to research released on Wednesday.
This reflected a 3 percent raise from last year's $134,121, according to Salary.com Inc, Waltham, Massachusetts-based compensation experts.
The 10 jobs listed as comprising a mother's work were housekeeper, cook, day care center teacher, laundry machine operator, van driver, facilities manager, janitor, computer operator, chief executive officer and psychologist, it said.
The typical mother puts in a 92-hour work week, it said, working 40 hours at base pay and 52 hours overtime.
A mother who holds full-time job outside the home would earn an additional $85,939 for the work she does at home, Salary.com.
Last year she would have earned $85,876 for her at-home work, it said.
Salary.com compiled the online responses of 26,000 stay-at-home mothers and 14,000 mothers who also work outside the home.

Every Parent Should Read This

www.FamilyWatchDog.us When you visit this site you can enter your address and a map will pop up with your house as a small icon of a house. There will be red, blue and green dots surrounding your entire neighborhood. When you click on these dots a picture of a criminal will appear with his or her home address and the description of the crime he or she has committed. The best thing is that you can show your children these pictures and see how close these people live to your home or school. This site was developed by John Walsh from America's Most Wanted. This is another tool we can use to help us keep our kids safe.
